I think McF is one of the smartest VT wrestlers and his technique is top shelf. Something he said after his ACC title tells me he manages his matches more than we give him credit for. He is tall and starting to look bigger upper body.

I will say that he shoots low and gets stuck making it hard to finish. The extra 10 lbs he is trying to essentially reel in and dead lift is harder. Would like to see him try and follow through on shots in one motion or pick the leg and stay high rather than shoot, get the leg, then try and lift/rotate.

I think we will know a lot end of Thursday. I am always worried when the matches are kept closer than they should be. He should get through to quarters and then things get exciting. I just hope if he loses qtrs that he regroups emotionally and gets after it. Last year it seemed he got down and did not regroup for the conso round and lost a close one on wrestle backs that he probably should have. I think he could have finished 3rd/4th.
