I do think you have to get started at that age - or earlier - to go pro...

only a small percentage of them will make it, but like a lot of things, you need to get a lot of that stuff built into your operating system, even 12-13 is pretty late in the developmental game. Sure there are guys who pick up a sport late but they were probably doing something else already.
