So here is my groupie drug story you'll never guess the musical act

Back in the late 80s, my dad played bass for a hugely popular musical duo. Country. I never cared for country music, but when they would come to town in N. California, where I lived at the time, he would get me tickets and backstage passes. My buddy and I would go, because he was a high school friend who knew my dad from when we were growing up.

So after a show at an outdoor venue in Palo Alto (I think), I went back to the hotel to see my dad and the band was hanging out. There were about 5-6 young women giggling and flirting with the band members. And my dad said in one room there was pot, and another cocaine, and these fans - the band called groupies "gerns"- would come in and offer stuff to the band.

Some of the women saw us and started flirting with us, thinking we were with the band. One woman was having band members use a marker to sign her breasts, and she would pull down her shirt to let you do it. She asked me and my buddy to sign, pulling down her shirt, as another woman came over with a marker and interest in us. Confronted with this sight, and being the straight shooter I am, I immediately said, without thinking, "We're not in the band." And with a look of disappointment, she pulled her shirt up and left.

We walked by a partly opened room and saw lines of cocaine on a table. But i didn't see anyone snorting it. Both my buddy and I felt uncomfortable, which my dad knew, and we went out into the lobby.
