Follow the money

From what I saw on TV; Szefc was very involved in the game (That’s a good thing). Posters keep talking about the players because Szefc was better at Maryland. Do all the posters know that this is not the same staff as he had in his previous tenure in the ACC? That says a lot. I’m sure if you talk to all the players previous coaches (HS and JUCO) they would say they’re all tough and competitive.

Fectau and Elbin have 1.5yrs experience in the ACC (hence the Fannie Pack) and played D2, D3 baseball. This is why we need to give them more time. They both will learn a lot over the next 5 to 7 years.

Example of another ACC pitching coach to compare to:

UNC Pitching Coach: Woodard - Played in the ACC, in the College WS and has played pro ball along with coaching in the ACC for 7 yrs. Very successful at UNC despite the poor leadership he received from Mason at VT.

I’ll let you do the rest of the research - It just may not be the players toughness or competitiveness that’s causing immediate results. I suggest we all take a deeper dive. It’s not a matter of if; it’s a matter of when ........... they all click.
