Since hyperbole seems to not work on Monday mornings, let me say


it a little clearer.

Yes, the show is worth watching. It is incredibly complex (which can be good and bad), but it has twists and turns the likes of which no TV show has ever had before. The political intrigue, the writing, the acting (well, most of it), the costumes, the sets, the plot twists, the violence, and, yes, the sex too are all on an epic scale. There really has been no other show like it. There is a reason it is so popular.

But, after season 6, the show ran out of source material from George R. R. Martin's books. And once the show was turned over to conventional Hollywood writers, it became a conventional Hollywood show. They have stuck with the epic spectacle of it, but the characters and plot twists are a shell of what they once were.

So, sure, watch it past Season 6. It is still entertaining in its own right. Just lower your expectations A LOT for the last two seasons.
