I still believe the guy will only lose when he's ready to lose.

I don't think he can be beaten until he feels he's proven what he wants to prove and starts to get crazy with Daily Double/Final Jeopardy wagers. He'll lose eventually...but I think it will be on his own terms, rather than someone besting him.
