Yep, I think Tafkam's mom was doing what makes her happy.

Though I'm not yet old enough to know this firsthand, I imagine that being a parent of adult children can be difficult if you feel like you're not really depended on anymore. I'm willing to bet that Tafkam's mom enjoyed cooking for her family today, as it probably reminded her of "the good old days" when all of her children still lived under one roof. I think the opportunity to do "mom stuff" probably made her Mother's Day more than being waited on by her children.
