I think my XR is good for 5+ days on a full charge

That's for "normal" phone use. Texting, talking, with some web browsing locally...

Now if I take a long trip where I'm using the navigation for extended periods, or if I'm in a fringe zone and I don't have it in airplane mode, it's probably only good for ~3 days. That's more than sufficient for my requirements.
