I agry with parts... in particular Midway. To me there is ...

NO way the japs soulda nearly gotten skunked --as they did in that one.
--------------
Tho' I'm not so sure on Pearl (at full War warning readiness) would not have found
Nagumo's task-force.

Maybe, maybe not here... as we did not want for search planes of varying distancing,
had they not been on low Sunday (Church or hungover) staffing. Or just a rain
squall or enough cloud cover and a buncha PBY's mighta missed them too.
Fog of War was very opaque some weathering days back in '41.

As for nip' G2/Intel, they held Eniwetok and Kwajalein during/before Pearl.
So their evesdroppers/ears were a helluva a lot closer to U.S. than we
were to tokyo bay.

There had to be inherent techno' 1941 proximity advantages to be had there.

And if I am them I'ma invading Pearl and going entirely for broke.
U.s.a. may beat me in round no.1 or I take their prize Pacific
possession and then I can dictate engagement terms.
================
Tho' what I do not get is... what could we have done had we found them?
As the Peashooter and all those old WWI racing type fighters -of
which we had plenty in/around Pearl- would be better in
C.A.P. than they would have hurtling towards the jap
carrier task force. Did not have a lotta airships
that were task force good at Pearl either.

Tho' only takes on hit... same as fog of war...
--------------
Yorktown too was not there nor the Lady Lex' or Sara'.
-----
I read that book moons ago... tho' with the red/white cover and not
the more modern version I found in Google.

Just found this one below... that Tora! Tora! Tora! was based upon...
