Years ago Texas required license plates on front of cars....
They would set-up vans on the highways in Houston with radar & cameras. If a car was speeding it would automatically snap a picture of the front on the car showing the license plate & a facial photo of the driver. Then they would match the plate registration with the owner of the vehicle to see if there was a match with the owners driver's license photo. It it matched, they would mail the owner a speeding ticket.
There was a huge outrage over this & the practice was eventually stopped. I personally think it was a great idea. My step brother was a cop in Houston at the time & he said just parking a van near a highway would cause people to slow down to the speed limit.
