Oops, should be under @Late 80s Hokie

You are a bigger man than I with restraint

Circa 1986

Late weekend visiting friends in Blacksburg after seeing a game.

1) Driving 81 at dusk
2) Car on my butt just like yours. I am in right lane with a car 200 feet in front of me. We are both doing 5 to 10 miles over speed limit already. No cars in left lane, but If I am going to pass I need to pass the car and a truck we are approaching.

3) Waited for hill, I pulled in left lane, and passed both within the limits of not getting a reckless ticket. Tried not to go 15 miles over speed limit. Got pass truck then pulled back into right lane.

4) The car behind me followed my actions where he was passing me just as I was getting into right lane.

5) Out of frustration, I turned towards ahole car and flipped him off. Then I saw the police badge and realized it was an unmarked car.

6) Cop got big eyes, and hit his lights. I pulled over, and he made me go back to his car.

7) He sat there giving me a riot act going through the his law book stating all the crimes he can charge me with.

8) He also complained that it would require him to take me to jail 25 miles away.

9) I apologized profusely. I then apologized profusely, but holding him to his actions in a respectful way.

10) He was a no go and said his decision was leaning towards taking me to jail. That was my last straw after hearing this for 15+ minutes. I apologized again and said that was unnecessary, but he was not going to stop.

11) I finally said take me to jail. I am ready, but let me tell you, I will testify about what you did. In particular, it at this time I was willing to go to jail just so a judge could hear me just in case this was not the first time.

12) After that, I got another lecture on what he can and should do with the charges. I apologized again saying in the end it was my fault, but if it were not for his actions we would not be sitting on the side of the road. He finally let me go.
