This is ok in some framework


the boosters had really no association with the Athletic dept. They worked directly to the University President. if the AD needed funding of some kind, they had to go to the president and then ask the boosters what they be willing to fund. There really was no institutional control.

While its privatized, at least the AD, has oversight over athletic operations and boosters, and then to the president.
