Dream came true over the weekend!

Good friend is a Captain with United Airlines...and a certified flight instructor. He has spent the past three and a half years building his own airplane. The RV-14 weighs in at about 1,200 pounds empty...and just under 3,000 pounds with a full load of fuel. He can go about 4 hours before having to stop for gas. Technically...this is an aerobatic aircraft...and the Captain has tested that successfully with rolls and loops. We DID NOT do either of those things yesterday...but against his better judgement...he did give control of the aircraft to me for about 50-minutes of our hour-long flight. We stayed at about 4,000-feet for the duration.

Dream come true for me!

The stick is remarkably sensitive. The slightest bit of pressure will get the airplane to respond.

We took off from Warrenton-Faquier airport up here in NOVA...and flew around that region for the hour.

What an amazing experience!
