I got here 30 years ago as the wave of surburbia rolled over - I suppose I was part of that wave - but knew about the place and the one closer to where I grew up, Reston from the git-go. Simon, the developer of Reston ended up living there for the rest of his life.

And now that you made me read up on this, understand that it was part of the "Garden City Movement" of the 60s. I live within walking distance of one of the village centers so the vision is still alive and well when I walk up there this morning to pick up some prescription medicine.
