I hear ya. I just think there's a different level when it comes to death.


My wife basically was like, "I'm not going to quit drinking, even if I'm dying."

When she got into the ICU, and was actually forced to look at her eminent death, then she completely changed. Thankfully, she was able to "pull up on the yoke", and she's doing great being sober for 3-4 months.

There's a difference between "I don't like the chemo, so I want to live well now even if it lowers my chances of recovery" when you are months away. The actual moment when your life is on the line is something that is completely different, and a lot of us on this board might not be ready for it yet.

Anyway, that's my point.
