Can relate. I still miss my dad every day.


I lost him shortly after I joined the Navy. He had a massive heart attack while mowing the lawn...his first, and unfortunately his last heart attack.

Our relationship was in the process of shifting from a "father son" relationship to more of a "best friend/peer" relationship. It hit me hard.

Love my mom, but our relationship really hasn't changed that much over the years. She's still my mom, and will be until I die. But my dad was becoming my best friend.

I look at kids growing up without a father, and can only be sad they don't understand what a two parent household means to kids. Thank you Murphy Brown!
