11 car innovations America gave to the world

Since this is a "click bait" article, will list the inventions in the post:

1) Cruise Control
2) Self-dipping lights
3) Electric Starter
4) Air Conditioning
5) Turbocharging
6) Sequential turn signals (Ford Mercury)
7) Power-assisted steering
8) Anti-lock brakes
9) Deformable Bumpers (i.e. rubber bumpers that will return to their original shape)
10) Clean exhaust emissions (Thank you California!)
11) Automatic transmission

One thing they left off the list is a relatively new invention, the magnetic shock. It was developed by Delphi, which was owned by GM. Not only has this been installed on a lot of Cadillacs and the Corvette, it's also being used by Ferrari, Audi, and I think Rolls Royce. It's a way to have one shock meet multiple demands (soft, firm, and everywhere in between) by changing it's fluid characteristics by applying an electrical charge. Genius!
