Yeah in August of 2017 I weighed 415 pounds.

In November 2018, my dad died. My mortality hit me like a ton of bricks. For the first three weeks after he died, I couldn't eat. Anything I DID eat went right through me. Anyway, I had some cookies and stuff during the holidays and my A1C checked in at over 9 in January 2019, even though my weight was down to 390. I was referred to a diabetes specialist who couldn't schedule me until April. So I went full-boar diabetic diet in January. I all but cut out eating bread, potatoes, rice, and such and eliminated processed sugar from my diet. In February I started counting calories on my Fitbit app and I've kept that up.

By the time I saw the diabetic specialist I weighed 350 so I lost about 40 pounds during tax season. I started testing my glucose daily, my blood sugar was coming in around 120 (it's now in the 90-110 range whenever I test it).

I took my son to the doctor last week and stepped on the scale while I was there and weighed 318. My goal weight is 250. I weighed as low as 275 in 2002, but all through high school and college I weighed 315-330. I'm excited to get back to 275. If I make it to 250, that will be what I weighed in about 6th grade. If I make it to 230, we're talking fourth or fifth grade weight -- and the charts will still say I'm overweight (although at least one chart says 230 would be my ideal weight). I can't imagine how I'd look at that weight being 6'4".
