As the proud owner of a 1974 Vega GT
(GT meant it had a 2-barrel Holly carb, vice the 1-barrel whatever on the base Vega)
I can definitely vote that car as worse than the Citation, and the Citation was a crap box. Now if Chevrolet had put a better engine into the Vega, it would have been a much better "entry level" automobile, and probably would have lasted much longer in the market. But the non-sleeved aluminum block killed the Vega.
Was shocked to read it was the best handling car in its class in a R&T (or C&D) shootout, but it was also the slowest car in the class. I think it finished in the middle of a 7 car pack in the slalom course challenge thanks to it's handling.
Now for some odd reason, they also made a Vega Cosworth with a really nice engine [Post edited by EDGEMAN at 11/07/2019 10:09AM]
