I recently attended a speech by an MCV neuro-scientist that studies

addiction. He said the addiction rate for opiate based drugs 10-12%...Cocaine around 8% although in Crack form it moves to 15%. Alcohol 8-10%...Weed about 10-12% unless started as an adolescent and it jumps to 15-18%. Nicotine the strong leader at 80%. I'm sure these numbers vary a bit between studies...but Nicotine stays way out front according to this Dr.
