But to be fair, the refs that have been around for a while generally do a respectable job. I have watched some of the games from the floor level over the past several years, but most from the mid level stands. At the floor level you see more contact and occasionally can chat with the refs. So, you get a little better perspective at that level.

My overall observation is that there are some really good women’s basketball officials that sometimes get “corrupted” working with others. When all the crew refs are not on the same page, the officiating tends to be bad. The Davidson game crew is a good example of this. Add inexperience to that, and it can be really bad.
