...practice very strict fire safety!

The Shenandoah doesn't allow open fires, but the GW National Park does (allows campfires). I've camped in the area south of Waynesboro, and there are "fire pits" at the campsites. The last time I camped there, several of us took axes to provide firewood for the evening fire. (And we provided a lot of firewood and had a huge fire...lol)
