Scott Gottlieb weighed in on the "healthy people wearing masks debate"

This was on CNBC tonight. These comments were around the benefit of the lower level or homemade masks, scarves, etc., not N95 masks. Some of his points:
-masks are no substitute for social distancing, so best solution is to stay home and away from others.
-the masks themselves really won't help protect the people wearing them. However, masks can block up to 50% of virus droplets if you're positive, but asymptomatic (i.e. you're out in public, not realizing that you are actually a carrier spreading germs). So this is a benefit to others.
-the masks need to be well fitting. If you have to repeatedly adjust it, touching your face to do so just adds unnecessary risk.
-surgical procedure masks actually use some of the same raw material that the N95 masks use. So increased demand of surgical masks would negatively impact N95 mask availability.
