Today's sign of the apocalypse: quilter's cotton being discussed ...

... on my Hokie board! One whole frigging end of my house (where ordinarily the front parlor and dining room would be) belongs to my quilter wife for her quiltworks. I had to cover the walls with bookcases to contain her huge stash of... quilter's cotton!

So I'm sitting here in the quilting room eating lunch, and of course it's now the mask production shop. So I can testify it really works, the quilter's fabrics are great for this! You need the double layer fabric (woven), with a pocket to insert your paper surgical mask (non-woven) in between. Hers also have the pleats just like the surgical masks do.

Now, of course, she is using up all the fabric patterns that would make garish quilts, and NONE of the expensive Civil War reproduction stuff!

I bet some of you all around here have quilter wives too, doing the same thing.
