Take a look at the population that they are actually including in their trials. I know the Oxford candidate trials are only for adults 18-55. I just looked up the moderna trial, and again, adults 18-55.

I think any of the vaccine platforms that are relatively new technology, will not be for children or those over 55. Perhaps the J&J candidate will include children, but most of the lead candidates I've heard about are either RNA or using a viral vector.

under a normal approval schedule, vaccines have a long lag time since you are giving them to otherwise healthy individuals. It's not like oncology where some side-effects are acceptable compared to the alternative.
