The gov. forced the problem, not sure what you are talking about running to


the gov. for help. The fed opened a loan program back in the last recession caused by the gov. wanting everybody in america to have a house, even if their credit history was crap. But the tarp program was actually a net positive for the feds once it was all wound down. And it prevented a run on the banks and a social chaos that would result from that.
