I think we are already seeing the balance..


Last year saw 4 Virginia guys (Prata, Gerardi, Laprade and Smeltzer) start. None of these guys were recruited to be "the guy" at their weight, but developed in the room and were able to fill in when injuries and attrition occurred. Yes, these guys weren't world beaters, but all but one qualified for the NCAAs. I think Virginia wrestling has improved a bit over the last 10 years, and guys like Bolen and Borst were recruited to fill holes in the lineup. I hope we're looking at New Kent's Nick Vafiadis as a future starter.
