No, the gun I had (9mm) was not enough for large game


But it was the best weapon I had, especially if I was carrying it for miles a day...but I can tell you what...given the two options of 9mm or nothing...I'll take the 9mm and hope for a David vs. Goliath type of shot. I was also not the only one in the group carrying and we did have bear mace. Bear mace scares me though because if you're not quick enough to assess which way the wind is blowing (even a slight breeze) you'll end up macing yourself.
