Interesting... I had flu in early March
Before there was a single official case of COVID-19 in Maryland.
I had a Urinary Tract Infection at the same time. I had the UTI symptoms (feeling the need to pee but not being able to produce much). I also had fever, chills, and diarrhea. The fever and chills I thought based on internet reading could also be due to the UTI, so I went to the clinic thinking I had nothing but a UTI.
I went to a clinic on a Sunday and they gave me antibiotics for the UTI. They gave me a flu test which came back with positive result in minutes. This was March 1 or 2 so there was no C19 test available yet. But they said I had the flu, and prescribed tamiflu.
Four to five days later the antibiotics and tamiflu had done the trick and I was 100% free of all symptoms.
I have heard people say they thought they had C-19 earlier than it was allegedly prevalent. But I never thought that applied to me because I had NO cough, NO shortness of breath, and I thought those were the main symptoms. But now that diarrhea has been added to the list, maybe I DID have it? Of course my flu test came back positive, not sure exactly what that was testing for, they just said I had "flu". Now I wonder.
Where do you go to get an antibody test? If I could get one that showed that I did have C-19 in early March, would that mean I am "safe" from getting it again? I'm 56 and overweight so while I'm not in a super high risk group I'm not super low risk either. If I felt I had already had it and my immune system had beaten it, I'd still do my duty to stop spread by wearing a mask, but there might be some things I would do differently. I am in a Strat-o-matic dice baseball league and I've played all my games this season over Skype. I would probably go to someone's house to play our games if I felt I couldn't get it now.
