That would imply most of those are service jobs, which are now stopped


Most unemployed service industry folks make more on unemployment with the added $600 than at work. Hell, my girlfriends a trauma nurse in the midst of this in Austin and if she went on unemployment she'd make 50% more than she does right now putting her health on the line.

All those service employees made more money on unemployment, so they had more spending power, therefore a more positive impact on the economy. Employment rate does nothing to account for underemployment and that's why it's a bad measure of economic success in these times. Being employed part time at a 25% capacity restaurant gives you nowhere near the earning potential of it being fully open.
