Not RCT, but you may want to check the Recent Studies section...(link)

...at the bottom of the CDC page linked below. The page itself just discusses their guidance for wearing masks and rationale behind the recommendation, but they cite the studies at the bottom of the page as "emerging evidence" to support the concept.

YMMV, obviously.
