Skeptical about "hospitalizations" being useful. How many beds are filling

just to fill a bed, with folks that might have done fine at home??? When I had my
hip done the Doc, who has a reputation for sending you home next day, kept me in
for 3 days. I was moved to a different room because hospital census was down and a wing was closed, hence my move. Dr's PA did the followup and said they were worried about infection and needed to observe even though everything was routine. On the third day they said they thought one more day and I said "Nope, I'm going home today". They said that would be fine and I was out in two hours. My excellent insurance helped pay a few bills I'm sure.
