It'll take that long for the July 4th weekend to actually kick in. That "trend" exists, in part, because it has a holiday weekend. People didn't exactly leave the beach or family gathering to go get tested.

IMO, there are only 2 options to do at this point. Have a vicious, martial law type total lockdown for about 6 weeks, or get on with normal life, put Darwin's theory to the test on survival of the fittest, and deal with it until a vaccine is developed. No middle ground will work, because it is only getting worse trying that.
