I have been working on a boat restoration project and now
Dorm room furniture for college. I made 4 trips to Home Depot this weekend. I am continually amazed at the families i see out without masks when 3-4 kids are there with Mom and Dad. I am not sure why the kids are in the store to begin with. Now, I have been somewhat of a mask skeptic since many of the people I see aren’t wearing them correctly. But since the US can’t seem to get on board with social distancing and we’ve blown ourselves off the Covid track followed by the vast majority of developed countries I think it is time for National Mask Month. 30 days of masks everywhere indoors. Let’s try it and see what happens. With several big states set to reopen more (NY, NJ and even VA, N.C.) let’s try one month of mask compliance to see what happens. A second economic shutdown will be devastating both to current finances and long term government fiscal shape. DC can’t agree on anything. A 30 day mask period won’t cost much and may be what’s needed to stop the flare ups and second waves if we aren’t going to social distance.
I’d rather wear a mask for a month than continue to print stimulus money for my kids to pay off.
