Here's what I did and it worked grate.


Stained it all one color. It was still too bright (from original pour). So I got a medium color (similar to my house color, dark tan) and used a sprayer but it was more small droplets than a mist. So I speckled the original layer that was too bright. I was also able to go a little denser with the droplets around the edge, making it shaded a bit.

It was like the difference in an airbrush and a regular spray, but on a larger scale. The weed sprayer acted like a giant air brush.
