If you lie down and straighten your leg, it will help a lot.


I had a tendon tear. You probably have tendonitis (similar). It takes about 6 weeks of rest to heal. Most of the healing is overnight. It should feel almost normal after 2 weeks but you have to resist the urge to go full bore.

If sitting makes it worse, lie down. Straightening the leg while sleeping really helps a lot. If you hurt it changing positions, you might need pillows on both sides of your leg or to prop it up.
