which wouldn't be far from SW VA a matter of time before fhey migrateSomeone I know said they heard bugling near Lynchburg, and that was about ten years ago.

So I guess there's Elk in the region but I've never seen or heard them. I read somewhere the last Elk was shot around, not surprisingly, Elk Banner NC sometime around the beginning of the last century ~ something like 1906 or so. Welcome back, while we're at it, there is some extensive planting of blight (and a few other things) resistant American Chestnut.
