Mulch and maybe plant something bulletproof like Liriope


Stay away from ivy, grass will never grow, stone mulch will look like crap when the weeds start growing through and the leaves fall on it.

Artificial grass will look like crap real quick with all the stuff that falls out of the trees. Water will drain through it but it will look rednecky.
