If you can see the sockets they should almost looked closed with a clot
filling the hole. A dry socket just looks like a gaping hole. Make sure she is rinsing any debris out of it by swishing water around. (warm plain water is fine).
Some docs "pack" the socket with a gelatin foam with some eugenol (oil of cloves) and maybe some bacitracin. That can provide some relief but in my experience just somewhat delays the healing. Some docs will inject a long lasting anesthetic which just keeps her numb giving a few hours relief. Tincture of time is the best med. Keep her busy and distracted and she won't be focusing on being "in pain". JMHO
