A friend of mine went down to NC to "audition" for a defensive driving...


...instructor at a little place that trains DoD contractors for overseas duty (Iraq, etc.). He was in my BMW CCA chapter, and had never driven a Crown Vic, but said he was extremely impressed how well those drove. They were far beyond what he expected, and I'm sure they had "police interceptor" versions.

Even if you didn't buy a P71, I'm sure you can upgrade a "normal" Crown Vic to exceed the P71's capabilities. There have been so many Crown Vics produced over the years, you know upgraded suspensions are easy to find. There are also many turbo and supercharger kits on the market that will bolt right up to it. Oh, don't forget to upgrade the brakes, no matter what you buy. At the very least, install new rotors and aggressive pads.
