Did you go to the R.E.M. show at After Sundown in 1983?

I heard it was the biggest crowd they had ever played to as a headliner at the time (650 people or so.) In the following weeks they blew up, and next time I saw them was in a 3000-seat auditorium.

The after show party was legendary. I talked to Mike Mills a while, he was very nice & knew tons about music. He told me I needed to be listening to Roky Erickson, and he was right.
