Complaint Advice

Household insulation company air-sealed attic space and added new insulation June 2019. In the process of adding new insulation they installed additional plywood crushing an electrical cable to my smoke alarm electrical circuit. No issues until this past week when the smoke/co breaker tripped and would not stay on. Electrician found the problem. Total bill to include replacing smoke/co detectors is in the 100's.

Should I contact the company requesting some reimbursement? The smoke/co detectors would have been replaced anyway in 2023. So don't think I deserve full cost amount but think the $150 plus some value of each smoke alarm, e.g. prorated.

Thoughts? HokieForever you are cheap skate, eat it? Buy a mac, drink heavily?
