MS Outlook question - I'm trying to group inserted pictures and shapes

in an email and having no luck.

It's common I need to communicate with a vendor about defective product. It is typically very helpful to include a picture, with arrows drawn on it to show exactly what the issue is.

So I insert the image so it shows up in the body of the email (as opposed to being an attachment). Then I can insert shapes to draw arrows on the image. All's good except once I send the email, the picture and the arrows move relative to one another. So the recipient sees a pic with random arrows pointing into space instead of pointing at what I need them to look at.

The obvious solution is to select the picture and the inserted shapes and group them. But I can't seem to do that. If I have a bunch of inserted shapes I can group them together, but I can't group them with the picture itself. Google Fu simply says select all the objects while holding down CTRL, but I can only select the picture or the inserted shapes that way, not both.

I guess I could do all this in powerpoint then save the result as a picture or pdf and insert that in the email, but I was hoping to not have to do the extra step since I have to do this fairly often.

Any ideas?
