Lax families often only want the scholly for bragging rights


What they really often want is the athletic admit to a good private college that they can afford, but their kid may not have had the grades and test scores to get into without the college's lax coach pushing them through the process. Same with field hockey. The private northeastern schools are full of lax and field hockey girls who pay full price, but used the sport as a way to get in.
