2015 Mini-Mites 8u Softball Championship game. I was coaching and....


Just imagine 1980 USA vs Russia. On paper there was no way in hell we had a chance, it was 95 degrees and the girls were exhausted. The other team was the best in the league, they had just won the semi-final game 30-0.

Pre-game handshake the other coaches said you wanna quit now, we are going to beat your ass into next week. That got me very vocal and animated in the dugout, which was unlike me. I gave them the speech of my life and they were so pumped up it stuck with them the entire game. We ended up winning 16-15 on a freak game ending double play, where our catcher remembered to touch home plate with the bases loaded and throw it to first to end the game.
