I've never been a mail carrier. But I've been everything from a mail handler, to a clerk, to an intern. Its an honest living but when I worked there it seemed like place where dreams went to die. A lot of really unhappy people. I say this because the pay is just enough for you to get hooked on it when you're younger. So if you're planning to finish school, you might just dropout. Lots of talk inside those mail facilities about what your plans were before you got hooked on the money. But the work is so monotonous and repetitive. I think mentally it can take a toll on you over the course of time. That place is the definition of SSDD.

With that said...the mail carriers I knew did seem happier than those that work on the inside. I think it makes a big difference. Being outside having more freedom etc.
