The tournament is the true "championship" for the ACC.

In fact, you see the opposite of what you note. Often, top wrestlers skip certain dual matches - see Phillippi from Pitt vs VT - to ensure being ready for the tourney with optimal seeding.

The ACC tournament will dictate the NCAA entry and seeding. Mekhi will need to weigh in to be able to go to NCAAs. I think Borst's absence is an indicator that there is likelihood he would not be healed in time for NCAAs either.

Hopefully, Mekhi can go this weekend, but his continued inclusion is at least an indicator that he may be healed enough in time for NCAA tourney.
