Roughly 11,800 vs 9,500 ... but they kind of have me by the ....

cajones. I can't get down there to do anything for at least a week. The shop where the truck is won't reassemble it and they won't work on vehicles deemed 'totaled'. So my only option would be to have it towed somewhere that I hope will fix it for a reasonable price and I have no guarantee that I can find that. Plus, as D-day points out, it is now a salvage vehicle which destroys any future resale or trade-in value.

If I were down there, I would spend the next 24 hours trying to make it work but I am pretty handcuffed at the moment. It was a nice 17 year run ... I will have beverages tonight in a solemn memorial.
