It's a double edged sword. It's always nice to go for a dip in the pool,

or a swim. A reason to get outside and be with your family, but they can, on occasion, be a pain to maintain.

If you're very well off, go for a big pool AND hire someone to maintain it.

If you're going to do the maintenance yourself though, I'd actually recommend "Think smaller". We had a 24' Round when we lived in Connecticut. We have a 20 x 40 inground here near Rochester, NY. I miss the 24' round even though most would prefer larger and in ground.

One more comment. Consider the trees around where you put it, even your neighbors trees and prevailing winds. Our CT pool had a pine tree very close and we got a lot of needles. Annoying, but again, size....so cleaning the needles out wasn't that much of a pain. Our current pool has 2 dogwoods near us, and that cottony stuff just keeps floating into the pool like it's magnetized. Then, when dogwood season is done, here come the maples!! When we use the pool for the first 1/2 of the season, I spend the first 20 minutes walking around skimming crap out of it, and then once I stop, I spend the rest of however much time watching every breeze bring more crap into the pool.
