My point is you can't take this data in a vacuum and draw any type of definitive conclusion from it which you seem to be trying to do with by stating "I'll let some stats do the talking" in reference to MY not needing the PG to handle the ball as much.
I agree that his system doesn't need (not use) a ball-dominant PG, but anchoring that argument on usage rate doesn't feel like the right stat. Case in point, Bede's usage rate last year was only 2% higher even though he averaged 5.5 vs 3.1 APG and had less TOs. His PER however was significantly better, which accounts for his box score effectiveness.
Whoever MY's best offensive players are lead the team in usage generally, and that's the case with every coach in the country. If your best scorer isn't leading the team in usage you're doing something wrong. [Post edited by soflahokie at 03/25/2021 4:43PM]
